Dentures

Dentures are removable appliances used to replace missing teeth, they are fabricated using either acrylic, chrome-cobalt or metal-free chrome to which false teeth are added. They help with speech, chewing, add support to your lips and chin as well as improving the appearance of your smile.

There are two types of dentures: Full dentures and partial dentures depending on the presence or absence of teeth remaining in the mouth. Dentures are kept in place by either using clasps which anchor around neighbouring teeth or in the case of full dentures by the dentures’ natural suction to the gums.

A denture fixative or glue is sometimes recommended to help keep the denture in place. It will take a while getting used to new dentures, time and patience is needed.

A little bit of information:

Why Do I Need X-rays?

Digital radiography allows us to see areas throughout your mouth that aren’t visible during a regular exam. Small cavities, cysts, bone loss and abscesses are just a few examples. Fortunately, today’s technology uses as much as 90% less radiation as conventional dental X-rays, making them safer than ever.

Since digital imaging is instantly available, you’ll enjoy a more efficient appointment and be able to co-diagnose your condition alongside our dentists.
